Dancing Lessons - Part 2

Brianne was not the most morning person ever. Even with the shades drawn in her room at the Guardia Inn, the morning sun always woke her. So to solve this, she had found a thick, dark blue blanket and stung it up over the window shades, slitting it down the middle so she could pull it back like curtains when she wasn’t asleep. It also, of course, meant that the night before Brier had wanted to start lessons, she overslept.
An hour after Sister Sunlight began to warm the land of Guardia, Bri fell out of bed with a loud THUD! Loki, all fourteen pounds of him, had been tugging at the blanket she lay on until it came off the bed and her with it! She was just about to curl back up on her blanket on the floor when the monster came at her, giving her puppy kisses all over her face until she got up from the floor and stumbled to the bathroom, washing her face and peering up at the mirror as she slowly came into the realm of the waking.
She blinked a few more times, finally noting that she hadn’t really lit a lamp at all to help her see where her feet were going, and that meant the day had already begun – and that she was late! With a silent curse at Sister Sun for rising so early, she took a few quick strides across the room and threw wide the blanket curtains, falling back a step, onto her blanket and collapsing once more to the floor. Biting her lower lip to keep any vulgar words escaping her lips, she was just about to push up to her feet when Loki jumped right up on her chest, causing her hand on the blanket to slip and down she fell to her back once again.
Finally, she grabbed the dog, got to her feet and marched into the bathroom, flipping on the water and throwing the dog in first, then stripping and hopping in as well. The hot shower woke her fully up as well as brought her back to her normal self, and of course, that meant she spent more time in the shower than she intended and was running further late.
Drying off, she pulled her blonde curls back into six small rows with little butterfly clips, choosing the moment the last was in her hair to actually start rushing. Running through the inn room, she grabbed the nearest outfit Brier had given to her, choosing the soft orange leotard, was that the word for it, she wondered, along with the black cover thing and the little warmers that went about her legs up most of her thighs, bunching them at her ankles.
She stepped into the bathroom once again, peering at herself in the full-length mirror and falling into a fit of giggles which caused the dog to start barking at her and her to grab him and throw him back in the still-wet tub. Then she was off and running again, grabbing up one of each of the pairs of shoes, choosing the simply pale pink from the point shoes and throwing them all into a bag before she snagged an apple from her collection on the dresser and headed off, Loki barking behind her till the door closed, still hearing him as she raced down the hall and down the stairs, trying with her blonde little head to remember which room exactly was Brier’s.
